Now, there's no fighting that in excess, sugar is bad for you and can cause a whole list of health problems. However, those who are concerned about their intake of sugar cannot simply switch over to artificial sweetener and expect that there will be no need to reduce their intake. According to the Mayo Clinic the same kind of health risks you get from regular sugar can be had from too much artificial sweetener.
The real problem people are having is that they are so used tot he sugary food and drinks that we have today. There is too much sugar added in these products and with consumption of these products they continue to need the same level of sugar to satiate them.
If we didn't have these products, or someone were to not eat or drink them, they would not have a need to switch from sugar to artificial sweeteners because they would be using less either way. There are other kinds of natural sweeteners, according to Mayo Clinic, that you can add to things that are healthier. These are things such as honey, agave nectar, date sugar, and molasses, but as with sugar you would need to limit your use of these.
Above all, you need to get used to not eating and drinking so much sugar because it is bad for you. Looking for alternatives to sugar may not be necessary if we just try to limit our intake, and this would make your life simpler and healthier.
