I have a problem. It's a problem with sweets. I mean it is a true addiction. What has helped be abstain from it over the years is a balanced routine of a healthy diet and exercise. However, every once in a while, I give in. Everyone has their vices and cookies just happen to me mine. Also brownies...cake...chocolate...
Okay, you get the point. Here are my favorite places to go when I want to satisfy me sweet tooth. Fellow sugar addicts rejoice.
1. Insomnia Cookies
I've written about Insomnia Cookies before and I'm writing about it again because I love it. The name aptly fits because I am both an insomniac and I love cookies. Have you ever gone on a sleepless craze in the middle of the night with friends to order 3 dozen cookies. If you haven't, you should, because it is awesome. There are two Insomnia Cookies locations in Kansas City. One in Westport and another in Rivermarket.
2. The Doughnut Lounge
Maybe you really, really love doughnuts. If that is the case, you will love Doughnut Lounge, located in Westport. Doughnut Lounge carries all of your origanal favorites, but also tons of unique flavors and dishes. You can also have doughnuts for breakfast and dinner with their Noduts. Have the Egg Sammy Nodut for brunch and the Chicken Fried Nodut for an evening treat.
3. Cupcake A La Mode
My introduction to Kansas City as a Freshman was kicked off by visiting Cupcake A La Mode. It was a forever lasting experience. Their cupcakes are truly like nothing else I have ever tried. Not only do they please the taste buds, but they are also very pretty. Take a stop by this underrated little shop to see what I'm talking about.
