1. Get Rid of Things You Don't Use Anymore
If you haven't used something such as an item of clothing or accessory at least once in the last 2 months, toss it. Sometimes we hold onto things for the sentimental value or because we think "Someday I'll wear this =" or "Someday I'll use this," only to never use it or look at it again. if you still have that beautiful summer dress hanging in your closet and it is currently 20 degrees outside, then you should move it to de-clutter a make room for a more appropriate wardrobe.
2. Buy Less
We all get the urge to splurge on ourselves once in a while, but impulse buying can result in too much clutter. We continue to accumulate more and more things while never getting rid of older items. Resisting the urge to buy can not only save money, but it can also save you space.
3. Invest in Experiences instead of Materials
We use material goods to elevate ourselves and make us feel better. That is a horrible idea because we can't take those items with us when we leave this earth. They won't help you contribute anything more to this world. They don't improve who we are as human beings. The next time you feel the urge to go to the mall, also think about what you want to improve about yourself career-wise, emotionally, or academically. Try saving for experiences you will truly enjoy, such as travel.
Hopefully these tips will help you reach your minimalist goals. Good luck and happy holidays.
