The race to the ATP finals is on!


When October comes around in the tennis world, everyone focuses on one thing, the ATP finals in London. It is that time again where the top tennis players in the world battle it out to try and grab one of the eight spots to have the right to play in the O2 arena in London from November 12th through the 19th. From this point until the finals, the best players in the world will be battling it out in tournaments played all throughout Asia to gain points to be one of the top 8 players. As of right now, there are three players who have already qualified for the finals.


1. Rafael Nadal

Nadal has had one of the best years one tour, and has no doubt deserved his spot in the finale. He has won a total of 6 tournaments this year including the French and U.S. Open titles. Nadal is currently the number 1 ranked player in the world and is hoping to keep that spot for the rest of the year.





2. Roger Federer
Like Nadal, Federer has also had one of the best years of his career. The 36 year old started the year ranked number 17 in the world and is now number 2. His year includes 5 titles as well as the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles. This will be Federer's 13th time in the world tour finals.







3. Alexander Zverev

The 20 year old German captured the hearts of tennis fans around the world this year. He is the youngest player in the top 10 but has the maturity of a seasoned veteran. He has won 5 titles this year, two of them being masters events. The masters event in Rome and in Toronto. This will be the young German's first time playing in the world tour finals.




With only 4 and a half weeks remaining, the competition will be fierce to grab one of the last 5 coveted spots. This week, the players head to Shanghai, China to play in the masters series event that is held there. There are plenty of points to be gained and the race to the O2 arena has started!
