Week 5 of the NFL Season in the Books

Week 5 of the wrapped Monday night as the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago. Week 5 was definitely one of the brutal weeks of football I have watched in a long time. The week ended with stars such as Odell Beckham Jr (broken ankle), J.J. Watt (fractured tibia), and Whitney Mercilus (torn pec tendon) all suffering season ending injuries, as well as Chiefs players Travis Kelce (concussion), Justin Houston (muscle spasms), and Chris Conley (torn achilles) all finishing the game out with injuries. The play in particular this week wasn't really anything special, but the marquee match-ups did not disappoint. The game of the week included the Green Bay Packers traveling to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. Young star Dak Prescott got the Cowboys of to a hot start with a 21-6 start in the 2nd quarter, but Aaron Rodgers got settled, there was no stopping him. Rodgers brought the Packers back to a 28-24 lead early in the 4th, but Prescott would eventually march the the Cowboys back down the field to take a 31-28 lead with 1:13 left, but too much time was left. In classic Rodgers fashion, he would lead his team downfield and finish the drive with a touchdown pass to Davante Adams with 11 seconds left to seal the 35-31 victory. The weekends second biggest game included the hometown Chiefs looking to continue their hot start against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. The Chiefs were able able to get out of the gates immediately and they never looked back. Alex Smith continued his MVP caliber play, throwing for 3 touchdowns and 324 yards, and Kareem Hunt still looked liked the OROY, running for over 100 yards once again. The Chiefs will return to Arrowhead for week 6 to take on the Steelers, in what looks like a weak weekend as far as matchups go.
