Are electric cars helping? or a big marketing scheme?

Image result for jetson carIn the early 1960’s cartoonists produced an image of the future and applied it to ink. One of the main features of this new futuristic world were the clean running, floating cars. Being released in a time where cars were, quite frankly, bulky, steel, pollution generators, the image of this new technology was very appealing to the viewers. Now, nearly 6 decades later we have the electric car.

Just before the turn of the century, Toyota broke the car market releasing the first modern version of the electric car, the Prius. After years of battling with the low power generated by the cars, and the short battery life, Tesla has reinvented the electric car.

All wheel drive, two motor differential, and worlds of that electric car torque, the tesla fixes a lot of the main concerns tagged with the initial releases of the modern electric car. But why are the electric cars so popular?

From less pollution to savings on gas money, electric car drivers have a number of reasons why their cars are superior. But is the electric alternative really making a positive impact on the environment?

From the stance of the car, yes, no mre emissions,  no gas fill ups. As far as secondary emissions involved in the creation of that electricity. I a city like Kansas City, much of our power comes from coal, an emissions that is far worse than gasoline. While it helps the image of the technology up front. The true emissions rate is definitely something to consider.
