Looking for a good movie to see this holiday weekend? Then look no further than Marvel's new box office hit, Doctor. Strange. In his review, Garrett Godwin says Doctor Strange is the latest "Shining Star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe." Benedict Cumberbatch plays the "Shining Star" Stephen Strange, a know- it-all billionaire surgeon. Godwin points out how similar Dr. Strange is to an Avenger, Tony Stark. (I could not agree more with this comparison.)
Suddenly, Dr. Strange is in a horrible driving accident, that injured one of his most valuable assets, his hands. With no feeling left in his hands, his career as a neurosurgeon is ended. Dr. Strange is determined to fix his hands, no matter what the cost. With almost all hope lost Dr. Strange travels to meet the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton). With the Ancient One's teachings Dr. Strange becomes Doctor Strange, "keeping New York and the rest of the world safe from threats even the Avengers might not be able to handle," according to Godwin.
I saw this charming movie last weekend, and I was blown away at how amazing the visual effects were in this movie. I can not express enough how beautiful this movie is to watch. It is very apparent the amount of time (not to mention money) that went into making this movie. The best way I can describe this movie is Inception meets Sherlock. If that sounds like your kind of movie, go ahead and see it with your family this weekend!
Not convinced? Watch the trailer.
